How a small decision can turn your life around

Can you think back to a time where you had to make an important decision that would completely change your life?

Do you remember how old you were?

Do you remember the chain of events that lead you to that point in life?

The truth is we all come to several moments in our life that have the ability to completely change everything. Some of these decisions we can change and others you simply cannot go back and change even if you wanted to.

One decision I made that completely changed the course of my life was when I decided to move from South Carolina to Washington state. It was the best decision I ever made. I was at a point in my life where I had just finished graduate school, had no serious boyfriend, and was looking for a new adventure. However, before I made this move I wanted to make sure I had a place to stay and a job to make the payments. While I wanted this new adventure, I knew I needed to make logical decisions in order for it to be successful. I remembering praying about this decision and not letting my fears get in the way of my future. I was excited to get outside of my comfort zone because I knew it had the ability to grow me in ways I could have never done had I stayed where I was.

Fast forward to present, I met the love of my life, got engaged, got married, bought our dream home, and had our first child. I remember when I put all these desires on a vision board and trusted the process. I wake up in the morning and can't believe I am at this point in my journey. It is a dream.

However, no journey comes without sacrifice, tears, sweat, heartache, loss, gain, patience, or making a decision to pivot completely.

When you make life altering decisions you will have many that will doubt you, not agree with you, or perhaps lose friends over major decisions. However, these are the moments in your life where you understand that your faith is greater than any fear or obstacle that may come your way.
